* Works with any app that supports MCP!

Just ask, in plain language

Once connected, your AI assistant works directly with your Nirvana tasks. A few things you can say:

What should I focus on today?

It reads your Next and Focus lists and helps you decide what to tackle first.

Add milk, call the dentist, and email Sam to my inbox.

A quick brain-dump lands straight in your Nirvana Inbox, ready to process later.

What am I waiting on from other people?

Pulls up your Waiting list so nothing you've delegated slips through.

Turn my trip to Lisbon into a project.

Creates a Nirvana project with its next actions, tagged and ready to go.

Ready in about a minute

Pick the assistant you use. It connects securely to your Nirvana account — nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP?

MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants — Claude, ChatGPT, and others — connect directly to apps like Nirvana. Once connected, the assistant can read your tasks, create new ones, make updates, and more, all inside the AI tool you already use.

It's still early. Most AI apps are just now adding support, so a couple of the setup steps can feel technical today — that will get smoother as they build better onboarding. Nirvana is ready now, so you can connect the moment your assistant supports it.

Learn more about MCP
Is it free?

The MCP server is included with every Nirvana account. On the free plan your AI assistant can read everything and create new tasks and projects; updating existing tasks — completing, rescheduling, retagging, moving between lists — requires Nirvana Pro.

Your AI app may have requirements of its own — some assistants only offer connectors on certain plans, or limit what connected apps can do. Check your assistant's setup guide if something seems unavailable.

Which AI apps can I connect?

Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and Gemini CLI all have guided setups above — plus any other app that supports remote MCP servers, using the configuration under Other clients.

What can the AI see and do?

It can read your tasks and projects — by list, project, tag, or date — along with your tags and list counts, and it can create new tasks and projects. With Nirvana Pro it can also update existing tasks. It only ever has access to your own account, never anyone else's.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Nirvana hosts the MCP server — you just point your AI app at it, usually with one click from the setup guides above, and sign in.

Is it secure? Does the AI get my password?

Your password is never shared. The AI app connects through Nirvana's own sign-in screen and receives a short-lived access token scoped to your account only — which you can revoke at any time.

Can it delete my tasks?

It can move tasks to Trash (with Nirvana Pro), but it can't permanently delete anything. That only happens when you empty the Trash yourself in the app — so anything it trashes can be restored.

How do I disconnect an AI app?

Open your connected apps dashboard to see every app linked to your account, and disconnect any of them to revoke its access immediately.
